This week's SureWest Sports rankings are out and it should be no surprise that we have a new No. 1 team on the boys side and that team is the Sheldon Huskies.
With a convincing 88-70 win over our previous top team, the Jesuit Marauders, there was no doubt left who the better team was to this point in the season.
Dakari Allen led Sheldon with 29 points, D'erryl Williams had 18, and both Kyiron Thomas and Ryan Manning had 14 points a piece. It was a true team win for the Huskies and they did it by making shots from anywhere on the floor.
Sheldon and Jesuit will meet one more time during the regular season, and you can expect that Jesuit will have revenge on their minds because they know the score wasn't reflective of how close these two teams are.
For the girls, Sac High remains No. 1, Pleasant Grove No. 2, and Oak Ridge at No. 3, but we have a new No. 4 team in the El Camino Eagles.
Antelope drops from No. 6 to No. 13, and we have two new teams to the girls rankings.
